[Gameboy Color]White leds in game cartridge slot

Is it possible to insert 2 white LED's in the gameboy color so that when the gameboy is turned on, the cartridge slot is illuminated?
I know it would be, but is there space on the bottom or on the sides of the slot for the LED's to fit.

Also, what available voltages are there on the motherboard, as 18v is a bit overkill. Was hoping to see if there was maybe 6v or 12v .

You mean at the back? Well, there is a thin sheet of metal. So you will have to remove that first and replace it with something else I guess...

But yes. It is possible. For now, as something for you to test and practice with, try adding 1 LED into the game cartridge (IE: The game itself). People do that and so there are guides around.

You could also just use the power straight off of the batterys. Might be easier, since you would have 3v to deal with instead of 18v

there is +5v and a small supply of +12v comming off of the voltage regulator
