Using Netbook Batteries for N64 Portable

So I want to integrate an acer aspire one netbook battery into my Portable that i'm going to make this summer and want to know if it is feasible to Use the actual battery with its casing and all, like you actually could change it out like you would with a laptop, I think that this would be a good concept seeing how much of a pain it would be to replace them post construction otherwise. Let me know if you think this is possible, please note that the Acer aspire one has a daughter board to which the power jack is connected. Thanks for the wisdom!
Btw I wanted to do this because the Acer aspire one 6 cell batteries are dirt cheap at 35 bucks.

The charger for the battery is built into the laptop, and its possible that the charging process requires interfacing with the circuitry inside the battery. Ive never looked into how these batteries work exactly, but one of those extra pins on it is most likely a serial port, or I2C, or something similar.
