Question concerning with the gamecube portable.
Hey guys i haz a question for you. Is it better to buy one of those hip gear gamecube screenhttp://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... D1V/apf-20 pad or to buy a custom made gamecube portable here. You see the thing is that the hip gear on amazon is around $127 and its cheap to but the quaility sucks. Now if i was to buy a custom made portable here then it would be a little expensive and i can't afford one, but at least the qualilty is better. I can save i guess but i can't really decided. So can you guy's help me out with this minor problem.

Re: Question concerning with the gamecube portable.
You're asking about two completely different things
A gamecube portable is a fully portable, battery powered system with controls and a screen.
The hipgear is a controller for gamecube with a small screen hinged on the top. You still need the console and a power source before you'll be able to use it like you would a GCp, and even then, it's not an integrated system nor will it easily run off of batteries without modification/huge power loss.

$130 is a ripoff for those screens. They're really small, fairly low quality, low resolution, and CFL-backlit so they use tons of power.
This screen is bigger, much nicer, is LED-backlit, and costs about half as much:

You can usually find 5" screens for more modern consoles on eBay or other sites at a decent price as well.

If you're going to go for a 3.5" screen, don't bother with expensive aeicomp. Go for a nice $30 3.5" lcd from ebay.
As a GCp, though, 5" is more likely than 3.5".
