Original Xbox Front panel question

Okay so im using the front panel LEDs/Power/Eject button from an original XBox in a project im working on. i've already conneted the Stand-By LEDs to the +5vSB and ground rails, and im just wondering what rating resistor should i use to make sure i dont blow the leds, and should i wire one to each ground, or one to each + rail on the LED?

You can calculate it the right way given the forward voltage of the LED (very closely related to color) and the forward current. Or you can just use a 1k resistor.

Theres online calculators if you want to get fancy, but then you end up with a resistor value that you dont have anyways

i might just do that then... will it matter where i put them or will i have to place them on a specific line

umm... I dont know what you are asking. What side of the led to put the resistor on? Doesnt matter. Most people put it on the + side and connect the - of the LED directly to ground.
