PS original vs. PS One

Post by Bomba Frita »

Hello, I got the book as a Christmas gift and thought that the projects in this book would make for a fun adventure in learning electronics. I decided to make a PSPortable since I have a library of PS1 games. I'm thinking of using my Original model Playstation since that's what I have. Is there any reason the 2000 model is recommended other than for reasons of saving power? What other challenges are there in making an original model portable? I'm not too concerned with weight and size. If I can't make it portable, what else can I make (I've started taking apart the model and slipping the parts into static free bags)? Perhaps I could make a coffee table console? Thank you for your time. My apologies if I'm asking in the wrong section.
