Still having controller problems

Post by ToastBucket »

Will a controller work in a game without a joystick in? I have a SuperPad and when I put in my gamecube joystick I got that "No Controller" message. I got the same message with no joystick and when I put the original back in.
This place is fun.

So I slept on this and when I woke up, the controller works with no joystick but i get "No Controller" once I put in the GC joystick. This is how the previous wiring was when I first opened it and here are the pinouts:

The wiring diagram looks fine, but it sounds like something is broken on a more basic level. Are you sure that you aren't shorting out some signals? Are you sure everything is making a good connection? If you just have a bad solder joint on the controller data line, you could spend all day messing with the joystick and still get intermittent "no controller" messages.

I got my SuperPad and followed the guide above exactly but I get nothing...it doesn't work. Ive tried it on both the C stick and the regular one. When I wire up just the x axis, It always registers down. :(
