It depends on the player.

Does the player have video in? If not, then you won't be able to use it.

And if it does have video in. You'll probably have to use the whole player. (minus the disk drive).

What would work the best is if you could get ahold of the second screen in those dual screen DVD players for your car. It'll have the A/V in, but none of the rest of the DVD player motherboard, just the screen parts.
