Nes power supply switch

Post by crimson70 »

I've tried searching for this and I keep getting portable answers. I am going to pimp out my nes and I'd like to get rid of the brick power supply and create an internal one with just a two or three pronged cord coming out of the nes. Also in the future I'd like to try doing this to my sega genesis as well. Is there a cheap, realistic solution.

I would think a 5V switching power supply such as from a cell phone charger would work. The board would be small enough to fit somewhere inside the console. It would have to be wired to the location where the 5V regulator is inside the console. At least that's what I think, I haven't actually done it.

Will the cell phone charger fix to be the power supply switch for Nes?
I also have the experience regarding Nes. So, I wonder if there's really a cheap and realistic alternative solution for it according to Crimson that can be able to use sufficiently.
