Camcorder Viewfinder problems
I have an old B/W Sony Camcorder Viewfinder. Its CRT based, and accepts a composite input (I think). I havent gotten the screen to display properly. I am damn sure i havent gotten the proper current going across it. I dont have an adjustable powersupply (yet) to test it. When I apply 9V at 300mA the screen goes "wavy" as if the horizontal control is off. If I apply 6V at 900mA it seems the screens vertical goes crazy. Any suggestions on WTF do do...? Besides get an adjustable PSU... Anyone think the thing is fried?

Man be carful with those things! I was on a page not to long ago about how to construct head mounted displays with view finders and that site recomended wearing safty glasses that had passed the .22 caliber bullet test incase the tube were to explode and send glass flying into your eye 
! not realy an isue if you intend to keep it away from your face but still never hurts to be carful. (if you were already aware of this then I guess i'm stating the obvious

I never heard of the tiny-crt tube exploding! Damn! Well, I was going to re-work the optics so I can make the display a bit smaller using 2 45 degree angle'd mirrors. That way the tube is pointing away from the face, but it will still be mounted on the side of the head. Right now it sticks about 6 inches out, thats a bit much. If i get this little buggar working, im going to add it to my pile-o-displays for future projects.
