I am going to attempt my very first console mod and I have chosen the gamecube to start with. So far this seems like the best place to go for knowledge on modding for practically any console. I have built many pcs before but this stuff makes that all look trivial. So I plan on building a franken style case out of the gamecube shell and what ever else I can find.
My first question has to do with the screen. I was looking at the PSone screen and stumbled upon this
Zenith XBox LCD Display (much cheaper)
http://www.amazon.com/Zenith-XBox-LCD-D ... 074&sr=1-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Is that screen just as easy to take apart and mod as the PSone screen is?
Also what are some good steps to take in planning for a build like this? (I am drawing up a few models but thats about it)
I am trying to keep this mod as cheap as possible with out sacrificing the functionality, looks, portability, and battery life of the device.
i appreciate the help and am looking foreword to making a PGC!!

Re: first gamecube
Did you notice the $50 shipping on that one
This one is better :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 3D1&_rdc=1
And it is the exact same thing as the Psone , just different exterior.
Good luck.

Re: first gamecube
no i did not see the shipping. looks like that screen is out of the question...
thanks for the reply!
ok so for the case all i have to use is the gcube ,xbox1, and gcube + xbox controller. how much can i do with that? like i said i really dont wont to spend to much on this g cube mod(have school to worry about). so what is the best way to go about designing the case?
all i got so far is the screen size but i am not sure how the shape should be for just using the 2 cases I mentioned.
Also what is the most up to date design for the battery? I have seen many posts that shows the voltage that the GC requires and some of the posts were kind of confusing me. not sure how to go about the whole battery thing.
Thanks

thats the exact same screen i just bought... does anyone know if there is instructions on how to take it apart? its being a bit of a turd.
Re: first gamecube mod
Underneath the speekers are screws, and underneath the little pads on top. The you can just click it open. Oh, and there are the visible screws, but I think you noticed 'em :p
