need help with noac pinouts...never seen it like this before

hey guys....just got a superjoy III and opened it up
i want to build a NESp out of it, but I looked through all the pinout diagrams and can't find anything like mine...

here are some photos, any help would be great!

it seems like there are two layers on circuitry for the acctual noac, there are 8 wires in a ribbon that go to the contoller, (which also has the power, audio and video on it) as you can see and 7 wires in a ribbon that go to the 2nd player...i cant figure out where the pinouts are...maybe hidden by the second layer of circuitry? check the photos...

It looks like the top board (that's only soldered to the cart port and nothing else) contains the internal games. Good luck tracing the pinout though

Wow, you're fairly lucky. All the pinouts are already labelled on the PCB

yes...the only one i can figure out though is the v+ which i guess is five volts to the motherboard...i guess it has a built in 7805

there is also a little glop top on the controller, maybe which regulates what button is sent to the motherboard, because there are only 8 wires from the two..and that is not enough for all the buttons and power etc...

can anybody help me trace the controller pin outs? maybe I should carve out the glop top to figur things out..i really am lost....

What's there to trace?! It tells you the pinouts.
V+ = 5V input
CK2 = P2 Clock (Red)
D4 = P2 Data 3 (Purple)
PL = P/S-Latch (Orange)
D3 = P2 Data 2 (Blue)
D02 = P2 Data 1 (Yellow)

A = Audio Out
V = Video Out
G = Ground (Brown)
R = Reset
DO1 = P1 Data 1 (Yellow)
CK1 = P1 Clock (Red)
PL = P/S-Latch (Orange)
V+ = 5V output (White)

cool! thanks gannon...sorry for being such a noob, i'll learn all this now...

two last things, then the only thing you'll hear about from this noac is a finished NESp...

1. So the mother board takes 5 volts, and so does the player two controller, but if only five volts are going in from the pinout from the power/1st player...how does the 5 volts go to the motherboard, 2nd player, and the first player (assuming it needs 5v...which i don't see how it even gets its power, since there is only v+ out to the mother board from it) so all this plus a screen will need 20 v in total?

2.to attach the FC-NES conversion cables, I should remove the existing cardrige slot right? though that might take off the built in games and any other things we don't know about..

1. Volts don't add up like that. It'll be 5V only. In the lower right corner of the controller there should be a transistor, a diode, and a resistor connected to the dc input. Those act as a voltage regulator to create the needed 5V.

You're thinking amperage. The 4 things are in parallel, so each get 5 volts, but the amperage is divided.

cool, i can see the resistor, the diode and transistor are higher up on
the pcb, i could just use a 7805 regulator to get my 5 volts right?

- i also now understand that I was thinking in amperage, makes sense...

i started wireing the 1st contoller to the motherboard, (through the second set of ribbon cable, which houses the connection to audio video power etc..) i understand that the controller needs to get 5 volts in, so as you wrote, it should attach to v+...5though now i dont see where the 5 volts can acctually hook up to the mother board.... because there is no place for it to come in,
you labeld the 5v input on the top set of ribbon cables (player 2), but doesnt the player two also need to get the volts to it?

in otherwords....where to i connect power in?, and do you think i should still attach the v+ to white on for the first player (2nd set of ribbon)?

You can connect both white wires on the controller slots to it
