That is a headphone amp, not a speaker amp. Perhaps it would work with some low impendance speakers, but it is really only useful for headphones.
If you want a headphone sound amp, look into the FiiO E5. It is only $15-20 on ebay, dealextreme, and tons of other sites, and is a lower end audiophile grade amp. It has built in digital volume control with 32 steps, and a "bass boost" button (Not awesome for music, awesome for games).

if it were me i would just buy an audio amp IC and a digital pot IC. the number of external components is minimal
