Removing Wii Remote capacitor?

Post by mustardseed »

I'm trying to build a case mod for my wii remote. Is it possible to remove the bulky capacitor without screwing up the remote? Do I remove it and join the points on the board?

NO! more than likely, its there to prevent some component from overloading. you could relocate it, or replace it with another capacitor of the same size, but an smt style one, which will be smaller.

As far as I know it's just so when the batteries disconnect there's still a little juice to keep it going. Aren't you the one I started the Controller mod for?
