how do you make your own wifi antenna?

on his newer 360 laptops Ben mods the wifi adapter's antenna to make it internal.

how do you do this? is it just a matter of putting a really long wire around the inside? what are some of the principles that one needs to be aware of when making their own? (e.g. wire gauge, length, stripped or not, interference, etc.)

solder wires from the points on the adapter in the pic , to the points in the pic on the underside (solder side) of the motherboard

well, I think you misunderstood. maybe I'm misunderstanding. I'm not talking about wiring the 360's wifi adapter to the motherboard, I'm asking specifically about the wifi adapter's antenna and making the signal stay strong even on the inside of the laptop case.
