Cutting the story short, I'm a long time biker, longer time gamer, I recently (~4 months ago) got into an accident and had my right arm amputated on the spot (my crash was caught on tape, for those of you who are curious -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y9Bv4vWVZc).
As soon as I got out of the hospital (3 months ago) I got on the PC investigating how to get back into my hobbies (motorbiking and gaming) with only one arm. Friends in the Eurogamer forum talked about Ben Hack and the access controller, and I bought one, plus adapter, plus wired controller. Happy to keep gaming.
After 2~3 months I've decided the controller really needs to get opened to replace most the buttons. The D-Pad is really awful for starters. Although I only use it in game shortcuts (first person shooters et all), I can't hit the right direction, ever. The trigger buttons tend to get stuck, and the face buttons, when used for anything more than casual tap, are too hard, and not confortable at all.
Analogue sticks also tend to "stick" (they return to the center but the game interprets it as still inclined slightly). Having a couple secondary "analogue in" buttons would also help the unnatural position in which you use the analogues.
So, I'm thinking on opening the access controller individual modules, do some exploring and replace some stuff. Anyone ever opened one, as some advice or easy fixes for my problems?
