n64p voltage help
fully charged, my battery (pdv-0700) puts out about 7.76v.
when my n64 is hooked up, the 3.3v line only gets about 3.13v, and when the n64 is turned on it goes down to 2.85v. the 12v line (7.76v) gets about 7.26 when the n64 is turned on.
does anyone know what i should do next?
thanks

Re: n64p voltage help
how are you getting the 3.13v out anyways?
Re: n64p voltage help
i used wires that i got from the n64 controller for the portable.
are these wires too small?

Re: n64p voltage help
Oughta use thicker wire, although I don't know if that would cause this problem.
Re: n64p voltage help
the same resistor and capacitor in harshboy's diagram. i tried using both chips, which produced the same results.
should i use thicker wire (i can if i need to, it wouldn't be that much trouble) or can i leave it like this

Re: n64p voltage help
i rewired everything with bigger wire, and am still getting about 3.13v. if the battery is putting out about 7.67v, than the battery cannot be the reason that i'm getting only 3.13v coming out of the chip, correct? is there anything else you would suggest?

Re: n64p voltage help
Check your resistor with your meter and make sure it has the correct value. Some have a 20-30% tolerance which can mess things up a bit.

What is the battery voltage while it is running?

"Linux is only free if your time is worthless"
Re: n64p voltage help
the battery voltage while it is running is 7.26 on one side and 3.13 on the other side. the screen turns on fine, and on the console the led turns on (though i have come to find that the led being on means almost nothing)
i do not think that the resistor is the problem. when i got the resistor on ebay it was $1.50 for a pack of 100, so i am easily able to waste one if i need to... anyway i took the resistor i was using off and replaced it. still the same.
thanks
