play protected music on psp?

Post by stuntpenguin007 »

I ripped all the music off of my ipod, because my library was on a computer that had its hard drive formatted. Since my ipod is broken I tried to copy the music to my psp after copying it to my computer. It works fine on my computer, but my psp doesn't even recognize that %80 of the music is there.

I think its drm preventing it from being played. Can anyone confirm that? I'd like to remove the drm off one of the tracks just to see, but it seems like everyone just rerecords their music... so maybe drm removers don't exist?

Are these songs ripped from CDs, or did you download them from iTunes? If you ripped them yourself, make sure the AAC files are named .mp4 and not .m4a . If they're downloaded from iTunes, they likely have DRM on them if they weren't downloaded recently. DRM removers exist, it is just a matter of whether or not they've caught up with the latest schemes. However, I don't think we're allowed to talk about DRM breaking on here, as it's illegal to do so in the US, where this server is hosted. I just get my songs off Amazon, so I don't have to worry about this.

I just realized that all of my music that doesn't work was ripped from legit cds. I'll check to see what their file extensions are later, and maybe rip them with something other than what I used last time if renaming doesn't work.

turns out you can only have your music in 1 folder. If you try place it 2 folders deep in the music folder it wont work.
