Apprenticeship (did I spell that right?) in Toronto?

So... Grade 12 here, going to graduate soon. I am thinking of applying for an Electrician (house wiring) and one way I can do that is I could go for an apprenticeship. So... Any one with experience with apprenticeship and how I could apply for one?

You have to get into contact with a trade school. How it works, at least in BC anyway, is you go to school for 6 months a year, and the rest of the year you work under a journeyman. So you'd have to find a journeyman who'd be willing to take you on as an apprentice.

I myself am a construction electrician. I've been in the trade since 1992. Although I don't do houses, I'm more a commercial/industrial electrician, it's awsome work. Some of the many perks of it are....
1- almost never deal with the customer
2- can curse and tell dirty jokes!
3- Can eat sunflower seeds and spit on the floor

I would recommend applying to an electrical company that does commercial (businesses) since you get to install much more interesting equipment and it isn't so rushed as houses. In the USA, they hire you as a green apprentice and register you with the state. You go to work and they send you to school one night a week. After four years (8000 hours) you can test for your journeymans license!
