DSL WiFi issue
My wireless router is WPA, and my DSL only connects to WEP. If I plug an open network router into my main one, will I be able to connect the DSL to the open network, and access internet?

I do believe so, as long as it is open. As WEP and WPA are just specialized security encryptions.....and if removed or disabled just makes it an un-secure network. Don't quote me on this though.
Looking to save money? Why not find you a cheap wireless router that your DSL modem will support? Unless you don't have neighbors who can really mooch off your internet connection......

Well, I do have no money, and three open network routers laying in my office. I know one neighbor is a mooch, so I only want to plug it in when I'm using it. And the DSL modem has a built-in wireless router/
I posted here because my issue is that I can't connect my DSLite to my internet. It just now occurred to me that the acronyms were the same.

Ya, I always had connection issues with secure networks on my DSLite. Can't say I used it's WiFi capabilities much, but I'm sure an Open Network would work just find as long as the DSL accepts the Router.
Connection issues like these go same for the Nintendo Wii, most of the time it refuses the usage of its wireless capabilities, and I think that is why Nintendo released their WiFi usb dongle to share internet wirelessly via a home computer. When I did attempt this on my Wii, it supported the security of WEP or WPA...whatever, it just refused to connect via the wireless card built inside the dang thing. And trust me, it had a strong signal (All settings where automatic).

You could just use your current router, and just disable the security when you're playing. If you want to keep your neighbors off, set up the MAC address filter. It isn't too secure, but it'll keep average Joe off while still letting your DS get on.
