1.8k or 2.0k Resistor?

1.8k or 2.0k Resistor?
I read somewhere in the forums that said a 1.8k resistor with a voltage regulator would drop the 7.4v down closer to the voltage needed for the 64. So, is using a 1.8k a better option then using a 2k resistor? Also wouldnt using a 1.8k shorten the amount of time the portable will run as the battery loses power?

It depends on how much your battery is giving off. You want 3v to 3.3v.
It won't shorten your battery length and it won't make it last longer. Your battery is always giving off 8.4v no matter what or what ever your battery gives off. All, the regulator does is drop that voltage.
You can use 2k or 1.8k as long as the regulator gives off 3 to 3.3v. I used 2k resistors and it gave me a voltage of 3.275v. So, I would try 2k and then test the voltage.
