Help Stupid Brian with a slide pot & audio amp!

I can't seem to figure this out. I don't have much experience with potentiometers anyway, and this is just stumping me. I'm building an LM386 audio amp, and I am using this slide pot: Digi-Key link

It's identical (I think) to the one Ben used in his Wii laptop as seen on Engadget, so it's capable of stereo audio:


Which pins do I connect to an amp circuit like this:

This is essentially the bottom view of the slide pot and what I've figured out so far:



Any help would be appreciated.

I think ben mentioned you need two audio amps for stereo in his Wii tutorial.

Try wiring one of them up like in my picture, if it doesnt work, try swapping gnd and audio.

This is somewhat of a stab in the dark, but I would assume that the two different "rows" of pins would be separate from eachother, thus being able to use it for stereo

Makes sense to me.

Also, since pots are essentially a "wiper", if you hooked it up backwards the slide would simply work the other way around (ie. sliding left lowers resistance vs. sliding right)

Ya, you will need two amp circuits unless it is a dual amp.
