Yobo Nes problems: Cartridge slot not working?

I bought a yobo nes a while back and I want to use it for the portable I'm making, however the cartridge slot has seemed to stop reading the cartridges. I have cleaned both the cartridges and the slot itself, but the situation never improves.

Is there any way to fix this, or should I just buy the Retro entertainment system? I am worried though that they may just be the same thing repackaged, as they both look very similar, and I don't want to encounter the same problem twice.

EDIT: Thanks for the info. But I'm not sure it's actually fried. It powers on, and it comes up with a colored screen. I know each color meant something, so I looked it up. The one that most often came up was one that was unidentified. The other one (which came up once in a blue moon) showed a color which meant the cartridge or slot was dirty, which is weird, since I cleaned both thoroughly.

But if I can't so anything, what would be the best noac for me to use? I don't want to hand-wire a superjoy, mind you, I mean one like the yobo. The retro that I mentioned is highly regarded, and its only $14, but I am worried about space and build quality. Is there one that's smaller and works better? Is the retro duo any good? I wouldn't mind putting both consoles in a portable if I could.

Sounds to me like the yobo fried. My first portable used a yobo at first, and I somehow managed to kill it. Still not sure how, but I know it got smoked...as all I got was a pink screen.

You may just have to get a new system.

The retro bit system may bear a resemblance to the yobo, but the similarities are totally superficial. The Retro-bit's video amp is on a separate board (as opposed to the yobo having it all on the main board), and it has higher compatability, and doesn't have the sound issues of the yobo.
