pc speakers

Post by Tallon »

I took apart some pc speakers I'm not using, it has amp with the power cable that plugs in the wall and audio plug for the pc, how do i go about wiring the power, I'm guessing I have to remove the metal box attached to it, I don't need that? Has some plastic pieces attached to the wires, not sure if I need to use this stuff because I want to power it with the 360
Or can I only use usb speakers for this?
Can the audio just be connected to the vga cable?
current project 360p:
2.8" laptop with 17"ws, keyboard and mouse/playstation compatible in games, temp sensors, 6 more usb ports
What I need: a second wifi adapter, case 70% done

The speakers have a DC transofrmer somewhere, either in the wall awrt or in the speaker the power cable goes to. Just supply the amp circuit with the same voltage the transformer makes and it will work.

There are no extra wires inside a VGA cable to run audio. You'll have to use separate wires.

Thanks for your reply, one more question so I don't screw this up, please
The transformer is with the speakers I guess in a metal box it says input 120v output 9v.
Does that mean I cut off the transformer (not use it) and wire the speakers to 9v on the 360 motherboard?
It also has small things covered with plastic connected to the wires I'm unfamiliar with them, what are they?

Thanks a lot

Things that I've completed in my 360 laptop:
mobo flattened, lower heatsink with fan, other fans next to heatsinks & case, keyboard, extra usb & ethernet ports, screen/dvd/hdd cables extended.
Been working on the case for a month, I believe it's the hardest part, not much of anything is really connected yet because of this. monitor basically done except for hinges that I don't have yet but everything will be painted first.
I've replicated the dvd door piece but so it's flat on the front (should be flush)
adding temp sensor lcd display for gpu,cpu
still need to wire power and eject buttons, etc.
now working on wi-fi and obviously internal audio (having difficulty with these)

Just put 9v DC power (batteries) on the same pins the 9v DC power adapter connects to.
