relocating the cart connector (there must be a way!!)

Post by bazz »

Hey, this is my first post in this thread, and I've been posting in a lot of different forums to see what would be the most convenient first portable for me to make. I really love the snes games, and in Ben's book it states that's it is hard to relocate the cart connector. But nonetheless, there must be some way to do it, or at least it must be possible. And more over, why is it so hard?? The whole thing of the connector sticking out backwards just aggravates a nerve of mine. Any thoughts?

The hard part is that there are so many connections to the cartridge slot and that soldering wires to the small spots is difficult. I have a version 1 and the cartridge slot actually is removable so I think I'm going to try to move the slot by soldering wires between it and the connector on the board. Relocation can be done but you'd need to have pretty refined skillz.
