would this screen work..?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

It doesn't look like it has AV inputs, but it would definitely work through RF. (However going that route isn't recommended.) It also looks lind of old, so it might have an old-tech non-TFT screen. (They were cheaper than TFTs back in the day, but they were kind of grainy and they had a really slow refresh rate so things got blurry when they moved. They work but don't look near as nice as a TFT.)

Pocket TVs have kind of fallen out of favor around these parts anyway, since their circuitry is fairly large for what they are. (They have to accomodate the tuner and all its assorted parts.) If you want a screen that's around that size, look for an Intec or Hip Gear screenpad. They're controllers for various systems that have a fold-down TFT LCD screen built in, and take composite video. The screen portions on both are pretty compact.

thanks for replying to my post.
The only problem i have with getting a screen is that I'm on a really tight budget. i just bought all of the other supplies (Solder,Wire,etc..) so all i have left is $31.50 and PS1 screens are out of my price range so its kinda hard to find a screen :/

Here's an Intec Xbox screen that will work. It's bigger than the one you linked to earlier (5.6"), but it will work because it's designed to take video from consoles.

$17 Buy it Now price + shipping from California

There are screens out there that will fit your budget, you just need to do some looking to find them. :)
