screens isnt working

Post by MarioOwnsAll »

Ok I had my n64p working fine before but the batteries were rattling around in there and disconnected a few wires. I re-soldered everything and now I get audio but no video. The leds light up but there is no picture. Eventually the screen will start changing colors.

Make sure that when you soldered everything back you didn't mix up the three wires and solder a speaker wire to the video

Also, ths may sound wierd, but I found the video to only work when power is hooked up to certain places at certan times. I would de solder the power to pin 1 and move it to the regulator or another spot where you can put 7.5v. This always fixed my problem. Some times my video worked when I put power to the regulator sometimes when I put power to pin or PS1 and PS2.

yea I made sure of that, I was looking at harshboy's n64p wiring diagram and I saw a fourth gray wire, is that needed for the screen to work?

So, you added a wire to pin 4 on the screen and then soldered it to the N64 and it still doens't work?

The greay wire is needed, its called ground. Without ground no power can get to your screen. The ground completes the cycle of power. Without it there is no cycle.

lol, nvm forgot about that. You must have a ground somewhere else.

I would try puting power to different power inputs on the screen this has always worked for me or wait for someone to help you that is a lot smarting that me.
