Where can I get this?

Well, I'm looking to find some industrial length cat5 cable. I'm going to be running it from one room, up the wall, through the attic, and down into another room. Are there any stores that sell this much? I have a huge roll of coaxial cable that I use for running cable lines, and video lines, but I don't know where I'd get it for cat5. (Let alone how I'd put on the ends)

PS: Would it be worth it to use cat5e/cat6/cat7? It's going to be for my 360.

Cat5e is the standard, and easily handles Gigabit Ethernet. The 360 only supports 10/100 anyway so don't sweat it. You only really need Cat6 if you're doing 10G, which is server-grade.

You can get spools off NewEgg, Tiger Direct, a bunch of places. Just remember you need a special crimper to make the cables properly. You might also want to get a couple surface-mount boxes to connect the cables to, so you don't just have wires hanging out of the walls.

(It's a decent buy, since the crimper alone is $20.)

Make sure whatever cable you get is plenum rated. That is, it's designed to be run through walls and attics without having to run conduit. If it's not, it could be a violation of local fire codes and/or your homeowner's insurance policy to run it in the walls.

This sounds like it's going to be a one-off thing. It might be more economical to use WiFi.

Well, buying the wifi dongle for the 360 for $100 doesn't seem worth it to me. I have my router, modem, and PC in this room, with my 360 a few rooms over. If I ever get another PC or something, or want to move this one to the other room, it will be nice to be able to just plug it in. (We will probably also run a few more lines to a few other rooms just in case.)

PS: How can you tell if its plenum rated? In the Q&A someone said it was, but how can you tell?

It should mention something along those lines on the product description page, but definitely look for "CMR Rated". That definitely means it's rated for that.

You could get Wi-Fi for your 360 a lot cheaper by getting a second router and using an alternate firmware like DD-WRT. This will allow you to get wireless internet on your 360 for $20-$30, and sense the router has multiple Ethernet ports, you can use it to hook up other things to it as well.
