screen interference

Post by nisco »

Hi, I've been a lurker to the forum for a while now, and am well into the construction of my portable megadrive 2 (yep, im UK!) and I have run into a small problem.

While everything is seeming to be hooked up fine, and running ok, when i arrange my components as they will be inside the case, the screen image becomes distorted and wavy. I assume this is because it is too close to the main circuit board of the console, and is getting some kind of EMF interference from it.

What I would like to know is what anyone would reccommend me do to stop this; the only thing I can think of is to layer some kind of fabric with shielding properties between the two, (this because space is at an extreme premium, the circuit board and back of screen are literally touching.)

The screen I am using is an official psone screen, and is in perfect working order :P
Oh and I used the composite video wire, not the RGB, but i don't see that being part of the issue, but then, I'm no expert.

Thanks for your help in advance.

On my genesis 2, I once disconected the ground wire from video. Image showed, but was wavy and distorted. I think you have a ground wire disconnected.

Thanks very much, I'll look into that, hopefully the problem does lie there.
