PsOne Screen Idea

I am planning to make PS1P, and I thought I could replace the disc lid with the official PsOne Screen. Is there any way that I could use pentometer or something to make it that when the screen is open, it would use the PsOne Screen, but when it's closed, it would transmit to a T.V through A/V? Any advise is welcome!

You could use a simple On-On switch to switch the audio/video lines between the psone screen and the RCA plugs.

I'm not too sure on what the PSone is like, but the original PlayStation had a button that registered whether or not the door was open. If you rewire it so that that button doesn't control the CD spinning and instead controls power to the screen (i.e. it cuts the power when pressed) then you'd be set. My laptop uses the same sort of mechanism to cut the LCD lighting if the laptop is closed, so it should be doable somehow
This has the added benefit that, since you want the CD-ROM to always think it's closed anyway (can't play games with the screen otherwise), you would be removing one of Sony's "features" and replacing it with one of your own for "free."
