White screen on PSone screen... And no backlight

So I bought a PSone screen. I opened it up (dumb) and soldered directly to the mini plugin mobo for 8 volts from a slightly used 9 volt battery. I plugged it into my ps2, and there was no backlight. Whenever I attached power, the backlight would turn on with a white screen and then go off real quick. I could see the picture on the screen with a lamp behind it, but the picture was wavy, with wave-shaped inconsistencies moving around the picture. There was sound. I tried doing the socket one pin 12 to 5v mod, but accidentally broke component CV58(right next to 5v regulator on back side of board.) I jumped it figuring it would be okay. Just before that I had gotten a white screen. Same afterwards. Somebody, please help!

CV is marked as a capacitor. If you are jumping a capacitor there's no telling what else you fried on the board. Capacitors consist of two thin metal plates sandwhiched very closely together, allowing an electric field to accumulate between them. They don't complete a circuit though (unless you have high frequencies)

So what would happen if I un-jump it and leave it like that? I don't remember exactly, but I think I got a white screen before the capacitor problem...
