Hey guys,
Since my nintendo's power supply broke I decided to make a portable out of it. I plan on using batteries like the Canon BP-915 but for now I wanted to make sure it worked so I bought a 24 pack of Energiser Industrial batteries, these have over 2 A and should be sufficent to turn it on for at least 1 minute. So anyway I got 3 battery holders, 1 x 4, 2 x 2.. I soldered these in series then I soldered it all up to the right pins, I checked the voltage with the multimeter and both the 3.3v and 12v were right.
I turned on the power switch and *Gasps* the led light turned on.. I turned it off, took it to the tv, plugged it in and turned it on and *Gasps*... Nothing happened, the led light came on, a blue line flicked across the screen but that was it... I turned it off and I then wired two more batterys in parallel with the 3.3v to make sure it had enough amps but when I turned it on the same thing happened.
I held the AV cord into the back hard and when I turned it on again "Its me mario" then im not sure what happened but it stops after that but the power light stays on.. I think it was me moving the cord abit.. I got it to happen around 3 times. I cant get it to do anymore and when I check the voltage across the 3.3v side it measures about 2.7ish volts when its on.
I would really appreciate some answers... All I need to do is to be able to turn it on for abit to make sure everythings all good. I had it a 2.8-3.0 v at one point and that didnt work right either... any ideas?

2.8-3.0v is not a sufficient voltage for the 3.3v line. You need approx. 3.23-3.4v to run it. Nothing more, nothing less. Just use a ti PTH08000. Its much easier.

Thanks.. I think I might have a 3.3v regulator if not ill get one soon.

You are not gonna be able to cut it with AA cells. R/C grade sub-c cells will have no problems delivering the current.
When the 2 AA cells are 3.0V and they sag to 2.7v upon load, you know they just can't do it.

Yeah, I just used 3 AA's for the 3.3v side and I made a resistor to make sure the nintendo works and it does, not for long though, it will start up then restart itself after 1 minute. I checked the battery when this happened and it had dropped all the way to under 3v so im going to order some proper battery's as soon as I get a reply to my thread in the screen section.
