so is this theortical case mod possible ?

buy a dvd player with av and audio inputs and do the following
1-open it up
2-remove the dvd drive
3- put the gd rom and and the motherboard stuff it in and make a place for the controller inputs ?


much help appreciated im not looking for making it portable im just asking if this is a possible case mod .

theoretically, yes if you were willing to cut some holes for the controller ports. I think there are some dreamcast laptops that have an ejecting drive as opposed to a flip top loading drive, and I've made a tray loading drive myself, but never got around to testing it out because it hase the old style gd-rom drive connector.

maybe I'll go see if my new DC has the old style connectors, and if it works I'll post some pics for you.

thanks man, i bought a dreamcast today for about a 100 bucks (used), and returnning it tommorow it went smoke on me

and yes i dont mind making holes for the ports and im looking for a fliptop

If your looking to keep it fliptop-able your probably going to have to cut down the gd-rom drive assembly, because I'm assuming that your using a smaller dvd player.

dude i live in kuwait old stuff here is expansive .
and no not so much just,dreamcast console,1 controller,220 volt to 110 volt transformer and crazy taxi .
anyway im going to return the console,transformer and crazy taxi 2 . the console smoked on me when i putted the transformer transfrmer doesnt work crazy taxi 2 is just scratched like hell
