I was thinking about moding my PSX but I had 2 Questions.
1. how do I hook up leds to my PSX
2. how do I make a window (on the cd open thingy)

1. Where do you want to put the LEDs?
2. Cut the top of the CD cover and glue a piece of plexiglas or plastic in there instead. (With the clever use of a paper clip, I ran it with the cd door open before!)

Super glue, krazy glue, epoxy... Basically anything plastic-safe and non-flexible.
As far as the LEDs go, try hooking them up to the power LED.
