n64 insatbilitly

well i have a question maybe its just me but it seems like the n64 is a bit instable to portablelize like when a hooked up it may turn on it may not it relly picky unlike the sega i made a while back it just turns on like it will also some times reboot randomly i just dont get i think its my batterys i use 8 aa cells recahrgeables but some times the portable works others it dont i cant figure it out its not that the batterys are dead i charged them to test this it still does this to me and ibe herd of it happening to others i just cant get why?????

Try the N64 with different power cords, and if it still doesn't work, just get another one. (Most I've ever paid is $10.)

About the sega, check that its getting correct voltage or if the batteries are giving it.
