Xbox Mods...

Post by IceCold »

Hey guys sense I haven't found this on the forums yet I figured I'd ask. Now, by looking at the Sega Dreamcast Schematic, you can see where to hook up a pair of headphones or, a headphone jack. I was wondering if the same could be done for a Xbox. I looked at a few schematics for hooking up a VGA output to the Xbox, and it seems like it can be done as well. CAn anyone confirm this? I'd like to do it to mine. Thanks

It can be done, but why not do a cool mod like a TSOP flash.

Simplest solution? Find the points for the audio out. Do I know where they are? Absolutely not. Sorry I can't be of any more help

My xbox already has a Softmod running UnleashX and XMBC. Lol, modded the controllers today with LEDS and plan on painting it soon.

you could always just get a simple headphone jack adapter for the audio out.

make sure you get some kind of paint that bonds to plastic, like krylon fusion.

i have the pin outs somewhere in my workshop for the av connector on the back of the xbox , shouldent take to much effort to run a fly lead from the back of the motherbord to a headphone socket mounted on the front of the case

i might give it a go when i get back

i will upload the pin outs when i get home

Edit

Found it

AVIP Connector

For audio signals, use AVIP Pin 2 (right channel), Pin 4 (GND), Pin 3 (left channel) and Pin 5 (GND).

if i remeber correctly the avip connector has sheilding round it

i will see where good solder points are for these pins :)

the audio outputs are line level outputs , ie not amplified , you may want to make a small stereo amp to go in there as well

i have a link to a diagram for one , i will find it and edit this with the link

ok here is a link to a tidy little headphone amp that you can build for about £12

theres some stuff in this project we dont need like the case and battery pack as it will be powered from the xbox psu instead

enjoy

hope this helpls
