Advice about cases and other things

Hey all, I'm new here and very interested in building a portable NES.

However, I don't really want to build my own case (except for cutting holes for screen and buttons), so I was wondering if anybody could recommend a prebuilt case that would hold a NES + screen. I was thinking that using the dimensions in Ben's blog to find a case would work nicely, 9.25″ x 5.75″ x 1.75″, so maybe a Polycase ZN-45 (9.180″ x 5.250″ x 2.363″) could work?

I had a bit of a search around the forum but couldn't see a previous thread, so sorry if this has been asked before.

The ZN-45 would most likely work; if you cut down the size of the NES and screen.

You could make a Nesp so much smaller by using a NOAC. They are in those cheap n64 looking controller 1000 in 1 games. I think there is a link to them in the trading post.

Unless he already has an NES in which case it makes a lot more sense to use what he has. It's hard to beat 100% compatibility and the coolness factor of using original hardware.

I really want to do a full NESp as it is, as Brian said, much cooler using NES cartridges and original components. However, whilst I try to lay my hands on a decently priced PS1 Screen, I think I am going to try using a NOAC just as a warmup I guess! Are the Pustom screens any good, are they hard to mod? (as I have seen a lot of them on eBay)

I believe you can still use NES cartridges with some NOAC's and no its not that hard to mod a pustom screen.
Btw, speaking of On A Chip systems, is the superjoy III a snes or nes?
