Better Screen
I'm building a CNC PSOneP from the book and i need a screen because i can't get ahold of a casio ev-680. I have narrowed my choice down to an AEI components ALCD3L screen at http://www.aeicomp.com/Detail.asp?Produ ... .230_LCD3L" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or a pustom 3" screen from http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15001" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I think the AEI screen would be best but send me your suggestions and ways to hack the screen to my motherboard. one small thing the AEI screen says it's 3" but in the description it says it is 4" (which one is it?)
I just forgot why I got online
Re: Better Screen
The AEI one is obviously better, but the Pustom is cheaper. Your call.

Re: Better Screen
Try http://www.industriallcd.com they're stuff is better than AEICOMP, the sample costs are around the same prices as AEICOMP screens but these are better quality, trust me, I bought a 2.5 inch LCD from them, it was dead when i received it, they sent another one, it lasted 2 or 3 days, another one, 2 weeks then it died while I was testing it one day, they sent me a 3.5 inch one and I have no use for it til my next portable. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
i hate how electronic part suppliers give you an option on their website to filter your searches so that you can find a certain part and no results come up!
Re: Better Screen
I think i will go with the pustom due to the dials and affordability and becuase it is a lot cheaper (like almost 1/2 the price) my only concern is whether it will fit. And is there anywhere with a tutorial on how to hack one 4 a potable?

I went to http://www.industriallcd.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and they seem to have some good stuff but I see no power specifications or prices... what's up with that?

Re: Better Screen
The Pustom screen is nice because it has an audio amp built in and a speaker. The AEI screens have neither.

Re: Better Screen
Did I say that
Meh, I guess it sounds like I hinted that, but that's not what I meant at all.

Re: Better Screen
im not too convinced with pustom, they run off 7 - 12v but i bought two at once, one lasted a week and now all i get is audio with wavy lines for a picture, the others still going strong but im really pi**ed off with the flimsy connector it came with so i relocated it to behind the actual screen. its got a pretty small control board so thats handy but its only mono sound and the quality of the picture varies.
