Got the book!

Post by Doofus »

I must say I'm impressed by the overall quality of the book, and by the humor Ben adds to his text. I'll be using a lot of this to help me understand how pro's (or people who do this more often then say... never?) hack their consoles, to make sure I have all the tools, and so I know how to keep myself from getting fried.

The only thing that dissapoints me is the lack of a Nintendo 64 section. But regardless, I still find this book incredibly helpful. Thanks so much, Ben!

I agree I also purchased the book about a week ago. It's great information. Maybe in the future, and if sales are good, Ben maybe could make a sequel or something. But I know this book will occupy a block of this summer :). Ok maybe all of it :D. Ben is the man, I hope he knows that 8)

The book is more like a step by step guide. I've read it, but it's not gonna do me any good till I have all the parts available to me, and then I'm just going to have to read it again as I do it.

I mean, even if he just included pinouts on all the systems he'd made, it'd be a lot more helpful (even though a lot of pinouts are available online).

I didn't get that far in the book. I'm at the hacking LCD's part. I still think it's great, and although I had prior electronics background, Ben makes a great introduction into it all. And not only that, he gets the concentration on portable gaming, he never loses track. It's great so far. :D I having nothing more to say about it :)
