It's not unusual for the 2600 forum to see several weeks with no activity. On the other hand, it can have burts of activity.

It all depends on what's going on in there.

Some atari modders like to keep their mods secret, because they suck. :(

Why thanks, Drue. I like you too. lol

Actually, my Atari project is still in the brain spasms stage. Even when it gets off the ground, I'm just not much of a work log type of person, though.

Naw, I was talking about me, but, whatever
I hate most worklogs, so I decided to never have worklogs.

yeah, worklogs suck. I find that when I post about my projects, they end up failing, but ones I don't talk about work out ok.

next project i do won't have a worklog. i think they ruin the surprise of things. plus they get annoying a lot when you see such a great portable in the making and after all the hard work and waiting it's literally still born

I like worklogs. Really interesting to read, and sometimes really informative too. I'll post a worklog IF I ever build a portable.

Worklogs = less time working on project! :P And you all wonder why I keep everything secret!

That's the biggest reason I don't bother. If I think of it, I sometimes bring the camera to the shop and snap a progress pic or two, but documenting every step, then typing it all up to post somewhere really is time-consuming. I never seem to have enough time as it is.

I think you miss the point of worklogs - people fall into two camps on this normally - 1) they like to keep things to themselves and just announce a finished project but keep the secrets to themselves, or 2) share the knowledge, try to inspire others to copy some of the work if it suits them and also hopefully help others get out of a mess that they might land into (if they have the same issues) and cause their project to fail otherwise.

No surprise which camp i'm in! Sure, making worklogs takes time, but fun - all part of the project. Also, if people aren't sharing their work, or looking active, then there isn't much of interest for others to look at and stick around. Sure, not all projects end up working, but that's life.

I find myself sometimes referring to my old guides to remind me about something I did that I need to do again!

I did a worklog (sorta) on the YAP64 and it failed, but I shared why, so you can learn from me.

Which is another reason I hate worklogs. Quite a few of them fail.

However did I know that was coming? Glad worklogs are fun for you, Bacteria, if that's your thing, that's your thing. But just because they aren't my thing doesn't mean I can't or won't share my own knowledge and experiences.
