Pet Peeves!

'PSX' is a DVD player that plays Playstation and Playstation 2 games.

Why don't people just use 'PS' or 'PS1' to refer to the original Playstation? It is seriously one of my pet peeves.

This post by eagle got me thinking about pet peeves. (Also, in speech class, our first speech was on a pet peeves.)

My biggest pet peeve is probably the phrase "I could care less". Way too many people say that instead of the correct phrase "I couldn't care less". What's worse, nobody understands it when I explain it to them.

Another thing that bugs me is when people don't appreciate what they have and have so sense of money. Nobody needs a new iPod/cell phone/digital camera every month. I work hard for my money. My iPod is a lower-end one from 4 years ago, my digital camera was on clearance 5 years ago, and I'm one of the few people who does not have a cell phone (yet, I'll probably get one in a few months, college and all that, but I guarantee it won't be fancy in any sense).

Also, bad drivers. Need I say more?

I'm not a spelling/grammar nazi but I HATE when people say "quite" instead of quiet

theres another one too thats even worse, thankfully I cant think of what it is and I'm def not going to think about it cause I'll remember and get angry

My web design teacher pronounces "width" as "weight" and it always makes my screw up my tables. I hate that.

Oh, one that I forgot to mention: people who think they know what they're talking about, but are in fact clueless. Especially when they "know" stuff about things that I do in fact know quite a bit about.

Also, weird pronunciations of words. My calc teacher pronounced exponents as "Eck-SPON-ents" with the emphasis on "SPON". Drove me nuts.

It was never officially titled the PSX.
PSX was a name derived from the fact that one of the internal names for the Playstation was the "Playstation Experimental".

And I'd like you to find proof, in the form of an existing advertisement, or article coming directly from SCEA, acknowledging that it has ever been officially abbreviated "PSX".

The Playstation was abbreviated "PS" officially, until the release of the slimmed-down model, when the abbreviation officially became the "PSone", which is what you'll see in all recent media released by Sony.

I hate to seem rude, but really, I'd rather be proven wrong than defended against without any sort of basis.

Umm. Ok, I hate people who bash other races and religions. And now that we are talking about people who bash religions, I hate all the people who make jew jokes and make fun of jews. I mean WTF? What have they ever done to you? And where the hell are all these people getting the whole "jews are greedy people who like money" thing? Sorry, but people who say that arfe not making any sense what so ever.

BTW, I am not Jewish, I am catholic, but I just don't like people bashing other religions. Taunting people for there beleifs is a very evil thing to do.
