Broken Nintendo DS (After Paint Job)

So, the other day my friend gave me his old (FAT) Nintendo DS. It was scratched up pretty good and I had trouble charging it too. (It would only charge if I put the charging in a certain way) So, I decided that I'd fix it up by giving it a paint job. I took it apart (which I've done before with other DS's) and got to work. When I finished, everything came out perfectly except the piece that goes where the touch screen is.(It was lumpy and looked horrible)

I decided that I'd put it all back together even with the messed up faceplate, because I wanted to play it pretty badly. I got everything hooked up and back in one piece and it wouldn't turn on. The battery was on low when I took it apart. You think it's just dead or did I screw something up? Any idea of whats wrong with it? Please help me!


(While I'm at it, does anyone know how to remove the paint from the piece I messed up on. I want to re-paint it.)

Were the screens plugged in all the way? That could be a problem. And while it's open, you should get a new charging port off of dealextreme. I'm pretty sure they have them. Your battery may also just be dead There's quite a few things that could be wrong. And you can just paint over the paint you used, I'm pretty sure. (unless it's krylon fusion)

Well, I checked all the screens to see if they were plugged in all the way. I un-plugged them and re-plugged them. It's still not working... Maybe it is the battery.

Nevermind, I fixed it! Turns out I blew a fuse. Who would of known?
