What to do with a Mini-itx board?

Hey chaps,

I've got a mini-itx board (17cm x 17cm) stuck in a sega saturn project i did years ago and i feel like starting a new project.

Tried putting it into my old Spectrum ZX but its just slightly too big

Anyone got any ideas on what i can do with this board? I've got the usual ideas of putting it into a megadrive / master system / other console.

Edit: Thought about putting it into a Wii case, but just found out that the Wii case is ~2cm too small

You could put it in an NES case - lots of people have done that, however. If you need some inspiration, check out http://www.mini-itx.com. They have lots of completed projects displayed.

I'm making a small PC strictly for my TV - should be able to handle N64 and earlier. I'm making my own case for it.

Well I thought seeing a Mini-Itx in an Atari 2600, was pretty cool. In the mod I saw, they even gutted a cartridge and put an optical mouse in it. It would be a pretty easy Atari 2600 shells are dirt cheap, and you could use a Combat cartridge for the mouse mod.

If you want the ability to use CD/DVD-ROM There was a C64 on Mini-Itx.com that had a optical drive, and was pretty cool. Check it out.

Any links to your NES PC? Did you cut the bottom out of the NES to get that extra half-inch?

No, didn't post anything online. Done it about 3 or 4 years ago.

Yeah, we cut that T-strip out and covered the hole in (Can't seem to remember what with tho lol)

Actually, it was searching for NES PC info, that i came across Benheck Horray for NESPC's!

I also didn't post any pictures of the one I did with a buddy. I hadn't taken many pictures of the build process, anyway. We managed to cram ours together without cutting the bottom out, but it definitely was a tight fit.

I'm not sure what happened to our NES PC, i havent seen it since me and my friend lived together all those years ago.

He's about to move into my new place, so if I find it, i'll take pictures!

Now, does anything think it would be possible to use any of the switches on the 2600 to start/reset the PC?

The sweetest carPC I've heard of was a guy who set his up with WiFi and programmed it to sync his music automatically with his home PC.

That's the best you've seen? I've seen one capable of streaming his cable TV from home, setting recordings, time shifting, and streaming video and music over a cellular connection to an in-dash MythTV frontend PC.
