PSP 2000 for $125 - good deal?
I was at Best Buy today, and they had a PSP 2001 model for $125 out the door. Is that a good deal? I may get one of these and through emulators on it instead of getting a portable 2600 or seeing if someone can make me a portable 7800.
They only had one left, so I need to know soon.
Thanks.

If it's new and in the box, I'd say grab it.

It is new in the box. What about hacking? I heard the 3000 is hard to hack and some newer 2000 are hard to hack.

Don't think you can hack 3000 yet, and 2000 cannot be hacked if it has a revision 3 motherboard, I think. There's a thread detailing how to hack these things.Atari Dogs wrote:It is new in the box. What about hacking? I heard the 3000 is hard to hack and some newer 2000 are hard to hack.
I hacked mine before there even was a Pandora battery - that came around months later. Ah, the good old days of the .tiff exploit...

It says it is a psp 2001pb 98510. From what I read, that is fully hackable.
Now I just need to figure out what I hack it into.

Hack it into any other Hacked PSP.Atari Dogs wrote:It says it is a psp 2001pb 98510. From what I read, that is fully hackable. Now I just need to figure out what I hack it into.
Run some Custom Firmware,
Get some Emulators and Homebrew
And your set for life.
Believe me, I have one, and all those old games will give you tons of Gameplay that you couldn't get with a regular PSP.

Re: PSP 2000 for $125 - good deal?
I just read another site that my PSP may not be hackable. I have not opened it yet, since I will return it if I cannot hack it.
The site said you could tell by the box serial number. My box serial number is AB024624220. The earlist price sticker on it was dated 2/24/2009. Any hopes this is still hackable?

I don't like slims because they are so hard to hack.
Go on Ebay and Buy you a PSP 1000.

I might be selling my psp soon if its of any interest(old, phat model), though it might just be local because it has like 10 games.

Re: PSP 2000 for $125 - good deal?
The ten games would be more than my budget right now. I can get a 2000 from a guy on craigslist with two games and the adapter that is a couple years old (will work for the hacking) or a 1000 from a guy with two games a card and the box and instructions.
Anyone get on the internet with their psp's when out? How much better does the 2000 do than the 1000? Any other major differences?
