Question about N64 and cd-rom drives

I've been thinking, would it be possible to some how attach a cd-rom drive to an n64 and play n64 roms on an n64? via cd-rom

Yes, it is possible.
1. Electro-tape the cdrom underneath the N64.
2. Attach CDrom to power supply.
3. Shove the IDE cable into a random spot on the N64.
4. Connect the N64 to a TV and power supply.

Now to get it to work:
1. Choose a game, lets say Super Mario 64.
2. Burn the game rom onto a CD.
3. Put CD in drive and power up.
4. Insert Super Mario 64 cartridge into the N64.
5. Turn on the N64.

Congratulations! You've just accomplished the most pointless thing ever done with a console.

I wish there was a flash cart for n64, ya know like the ds has, but takes full size sd cards. Imagine how much easier it would be to bring your games everywhere.
