Or just open the cart up, and use a pencil eraser like I do, to lift off the dirt and shine the traces - fast, effective and virtually free...

Don't use 70% alcohol. It can leave a residue on the pins. Use 90% or higher. Denatured Alcohol works great. A regular electronics cleaner works even better.

Where I live it's very hard to get 90% but 70% works fine for me. Never tried denatured. I have a friend who has some trouble with his SNES- he uses aerosol contact cleaner.

That's usually only for us hackers who have a gamebit though. But still if you have on then go for it, I'll have to try that.
