Gamecube Battery

Alright, I've been looking at batteryspace and it looks like it's going to be $100 for the battery alone. I know that batteryspace is a little over priced so I was wondering if there was a cheaper battery that's good for gamecube, I searched ebay for one, but 11.1 volts only come standard in laptop sized batteries, which I could probably use, but I want to know if any come cheaper and at a good voltage that works well with the 7808 regulator for the psone screen.

Basically I want what everyone wants, a cheap battery that's quality and small.

Oh yeah and one more question, why do you guys make a separate voltage line for each line the gameube takes, why not just run the battery through the + and ground of the power board and fan?

maybe the power board is bigger than using separate lines? And as for cheap batteries,idk, I already PM'd you the cheapest batteries I could find.

Yeah but they're only 7.4 volts, if I get 2 but that would be about 15 volts, and I don't think I can get that to the power board without frying it. Unless there's a regulator for that particular voltage.

um, what voltages do you need? 12, 5, and 7.4 right?

Yup, around 12.5 for the cube, and 7.4 for the screen, I already have a regulator for the screen though. So I just need one for the cube.

The gamecube may be able to do that, but the least voltage you can drop to is 11.1 volts, also according to shock slayer. Also, there's another problem with using 2 batteries, the stock charger probably won't charge them, maybe, but very slowly. At least when the system is off.

do you mind if it is 12v though?

The power adapter is for the cube gives 12, and I don't know what the max voltage is. I was looking for a regulator for those 2 batteries put together, but none gives more than 2 amps that I've found. The cube needs 3.6 amps of current.

Now, if your not willing to spend the money to get decent batteries you won't get what you want.

The cube's powerboard will run off 11.1v, but no less than 10v. You only get 2 hours off a 6.4Ah Li-ion powering the cube(though original powerboard) + a PSO screen.

Now, to answer this question :

No one has successfully done that, every single GCp ever made has used the original powerboard, and no one has yet to be successful using TI regs(tried) or linear rregulators(without severe heat problems)

I know quality means price, but is it really $100 for a battery, I thought batteryspace.com was a little overpriced according to to other members.
