Screen Flickering To Music Problem

Hi, I am not completely new here. I started working on a SNES portable about a year ago and shelved it because of some money issues. Now I am trying to finish it. I have resurrected the dusty thing and it works fine except for a few bugs. After about ten minutes or so the screen starts to kind of flicker to the games music. I think it has to do with my video cable being too long and receiving interference; but, I have the cart slot relocated with about five inches of wire which I know now is a bad thing.

Which do you guys think is the issue? Shortening the video cable would be MUCH easier, but I am willing to shorten the cart extending cable if I have to.

(BTW I had this issue last year, but I dint know much and thought it was the batteries)

EDIT: I left the system on to see what would happen over a period of time and when I went to look at it, it keeps repeatedly resetting. If I turn it off for a few seconds it will remain on for a few more seconds with the screen being really garbled and then reset again. Hopefully a cart slot relocation issue????

Sorry about the double post, but no one is responding.

I think the problem is in fact my batteries. I am using the ones detailed in Ben's instructions but I am using the screen without the LED mod so I think its draining them too fast. What lead me to believe this is the fact that I wired up a PSone ac/dc transformer to it supplying a constant 7.5v and I have yet to find a problem. Sigh... I guess I am just going to find some nicer batteries.

1) There's an edit button.

3) You figured it out on your own. The problem is your batteries. Not enough voltage and/or current.

you need a protection circuit for those battery's too, I guess I never realized that they are lithium polymer.

I remember someone had a similar problem quite a while back on an old thread with the sound flickering the video; think it might be to do with shielding - if not, search the old threads for the post!

I had the exact same problem a long while ago with my first SNES portable, and the reason was the batteries. I was using AA's and they just weren't lasting as long as I thought they would.

I know this post is kind of dead but I think I figured out why I was having this problem.
I dint have the +5 volt line connected to the regulator on the back of the screen... That, I figure, is why when the voltage of the batteries drops a bit after a while; the screen does not have a stable enough voltage to work with so it starts flickering when ever there is a higher load on the batteries(music, controller). The new batteries helped extend this time before the voltage got to this point (about 6.9v) from fifteen minutes to a hour and a half, but now the playable time on a charge is much longer because it doesn’t start to flicker as much before it dies. I just thought I would share in case anyone else was having this problem.
