Iphone case hacking

Would it be possible to mod a 2g iphone into a 3g case? Are there any good case mods that can be done to the 2g iphone? I'm thinking about getting one, but don't like the casing, and I can get one at $250, just with a scratched/dented casing.

The sheer tininess of the insides is amazing, they won't fit any other way than the way they are.

you could get the back of your ipod dipped in a gold coating. Then it would be cool and different. Getting it dipped would cost about 100$ for one, or about 100$ for 100.
