Got myself a cheap PSone screen, the Logic 3, the other week. Couldn't believe it, the guy had it on a buy it now on e-bay, including delivery, for about £7.
Nice picture, works fine; can't seem to get it to take composite input, only seems to take RGB. This is a pain as of course my N64's are PAL so can't do RGB, however, I have an NTSC N64 so can swap the PIP chips, as someone here did recently to make it take RGB; assuming of course the board is in the right band of serial numbers (!). If I get RGB working, fine; but good chance it won't.
I found by hooking up a composite plug from a plug'n'play for testing purposes, by connecting the composite to C-sync and to Rgb I get red, rGb I get green, rgB I get blue, mix two of the three together and you get magenta, yellow, etc; but put all three together and you just get a grey (B&W) pic and not colour. I tried using a 220uf capacitor on the C-sync line, no difference.
Any ideas to get colour composite input; or anyone know much about these screens?
Logic 3 screen. No composite!

You can't turn composite into RGB like that. It's encoded similarily to S-video with chrominance and luminance. Then they are mashed together with sync.

I say switch it out with a psone screen from a different project.

Re: Logic 3 screen. No composite!
Yes, i'm going to have to use a normal PSone screen. The Logic 3 has quite a decent screen, one thing which is nice is that the main board is a similar size to the screen itself, although it does have a couple of daughter boards. If I could have used it, it would have saved time hacking a PSone screen board down, which was my motive.
The Logic 3 screen is PAL / NTSC (handy) but is ONLY RGB which is annoying, as I was looking to use the screen for an N64.
I had an NTSC N64 console which I bought a year ago for £4 in error; so I removed the PIF chip and replaced it with a PIF(P) chip from a dead N64 (the PAL chip) as per daftmike's guide - worked, but I only get a black and white screen, and it is fuzzy at the top; so for me, the mod wasn't successful although it worked.
Going to use one of my many PSone screens then!

How much do you want for the Logic 3 screen?

PM me with an offer. I will have to post from UK but can make an estimate of costs.
I can post pics of it if you like.
The bottom part, where it normally attaches to the PSone console, is removed, leaving the bare board for the inputs and power - doesn't matter though if you are going to use it for portablizing. Screen is in good condition, no marks.
I have two NTSC screens (PSone screens) as well as PAL screens, as this screen is only RGB, I can't use it for the project I had in mind, so it is surplus at the moment.
