I'd like to make a fairly simple NES portable using the PSOne screen and NES board which would run off a 9.6v battery pack. A couple of questions, if you'd be so kind as to entertain them:
1. Can I run the 9.6v from the battery directly to the 7.5v in on the PSone screen or would I fry the screen? In Ben's book, it says to use at least 2 volts more than the screen requires. I figure this should be okay, but wanted a more experienced opinion.
2. Can I run the NES board off of the same +5v spot I'm running the LEDs off of? In other words, can I solder two wires to the +5v spot on the screen, run one to the LEDs and the other to the "+5v In" spot on the NES board?
3. Do I need to amplify the video signal coming from the NES board to run it on the screen if I just hook it up directly via the "composite in" jack on the screen?
Again, I'm trying to make this as simple as possible, as I totally fried the last one I attempted. ***Averts eyes in shame...***

5v is good for both, no problem.

Thanks for the info. Is there some sort of regulator I can throw between the battery and the screen that will step the voltage down to 7.5v?
